Winchester Embroiderers' Guild welcomes contemporary and traditional textile artists, embroiderers and craft enthusiasts

Young Embroiderers'

Winchester Young Embroiderers meet six times a year during each of the main school holidays. We take girls and boys aged eight years and over. As well as learning how to do embroidery stitches we cover other craft skills too, such as fabric printing and painting, felting and weaving. We aim to create a take-home item, such as a bag, phone case or pencil pot at each workshop. The workshops are suitable for complete beginners as well as children who have stitched before. All materials are provided but children may like to bring their own sewing basket if they have one. All the helpers are members of Winchester Embroiderers Guild and DBS cleared.

The workshops take place at Badger Farm Community Centre, by the Sainsburys store from 10am to 3pm and cost £10 per child. A packed lunch is required. For dates and further information or to sign up to receive the newsletter please contact Karen Brooking by This email address is being protected from spambots. Young Embroiderers are encouraged to show their work both at the annual Littleton Show and every three years at the Winchester Embroiderers Guild Exhibition.

Here is some of the beautiful work our Young Embroiderers' have been doing over the Easter period. It shows some very careful and varied stitchery - they should be very proud.
